SubtitleVideo is an iPhone subtitle and translation app focused on anime, movies and personal NAS video libraries. No registration is required. It offers live subtitles and translation, complete on-device generation for local and NAS videos, and separate original and translated SRT exports.

No account or video upload to our servers is required. Complete subtitle generation runs on-device; live recognition on earlier OS versions may use Apple's online service. Model preparation, NAS access and purchases can still need a connection. See the privacy policy and offline guide.

This is a developer-provided example on iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 26, including subtitle translation. Actual times vary with device, language and audio; NAS sources also depend on network speed. The free per-file limit is 30 minutes, so a two-hour file requires Pro.

The iPhone and iPad version requires iOS 18 or later. Recognition and translation availability also depend on the device, OS, language and prepared models.

Yes. For supported language pairs, choose original text, translated text or both. Original and translated subtitles are saved as separate SRT files.

For an SMB video source, generated SRT files can be saved to the video's shared folder with write permission. The app asks before replacing existing files.

Options include Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, French, German and Spanish. Availability depends on the device and system models. Translation pairs have a separate system availability check.

Offline behavior depends on the feature, OS and model state. Initial downloads, older live recognition paths, SMB access and purchase restoration may need a connection.

The current allowance is 30 cumulative live subtitle minutes and 3 successful complete subtitle generations, up to 30 minutes per file. It is cumulative and does not reset daily, weekly or monthly.

An SRT is a separate text-and-timing file that a player can load. Permanently embedding captions into a video picture requires a video tool with subtitle rendering support.

The system may need recognition resources or translation packs. Complete generation on earlier OS versions needs a Whisper model. Keep the app in the foreground and leave storage space available.
