Privacy and media processing

1. Information Collection

Information We DO NOT Collect:

• Your video files or content
• Audio data extracted from videos
• Text content generated by speech recognition
• No name or email registration is required for subtitle features; information you voluntarily send to support is an exception
• Device location information

Technical Information We May Collect:

• App crash reports (without personal data)
• Basic device information (iOS version, device model)
• App usage statistics (feature usage frequency)

2. Data Usage

Local Processing:

Video decoding and audio extraction take place on the device. System recognition on iOS 26 and downloaded Whisper models provide on-device paths; live recognition on earlier systems may use Apple online services. Offline processing cannot be promised for every OS and language.

iOS Native APIs:

The app uses Apple speech and translation capabilities, subject to system permissions, supported languages and available models. Initial resource downloads, translation packs and some online recognition may need network access; Apple privacy information applies to those system services.

3. Permission Usage

Microphone Permission:

• Used only to extract audio from imported video files
• Does not record ambient sound or calls
• Temporary audio files may be created during processing

Photo Library Permission:

• Used only to let you select video files to process
• Does not access photos or other media files

4. Data Storage

App settings and preferences (such as subtitle size, language selection) are stored locally on your device and are not synced to the cloud or our servers.

Temporary Data:

• Temporary files may be created during audio extraction
• Audio and generated subtitles may be stored in temporary or app cache directories
• Exported subtitle files remain in the Files or SMB destination you choose

5. Third-Party Services

Speech recognition, translation, model downloads and in-app purchases may use services from Apple or model providers. Their privacy information applies to those requests. For SMB shares you configure, the app uses your connection details to access that server.

6. Data Sharing

System services, shares and support contact that you choose to use handle the corresponding requests as described above. We commit to:

• Never selling your data
• Not sharing information with advertisers
• Not providing data to governments or law enforcement (unless legally required)

7. Children's Privacy

Refer to the age rating displayed in the App Store and system parental controls. Contact support with questions about privacy for minors.

8. Your Rights

• Revoke app permissions anytime in iOS Settings
• Manage app storage in system settings. Exported files are not automatically removed with the app, and the same-device free allowance may persist in Keychain

9. Policy Updates

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through in-app notifications or App Store update notes. Continued use of the app indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
